- 2.5 cups water (for cooking lentils)
- 1.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 0.5 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp dried herbs and/or seeds (optional; suggestions include cumin seeds, sesame seeds, dried oregano, dried thyme, smoked paprika, or za'atar)
